our 3 "female" rabbits ended up being 2 female and one VERY happy male...

we have 4 baby bunnies in need of homes. they are ready to go this week, VERY cute and easy to care for.

their favourite food is cabbage and timothy grass hay (about $75 for a 3-4 lb bag). they like to wee and poop in one corner of their cage, so fairly easy to clean. if you put some wood chips in the bottom of the cage, they absorb the urine and the smell is reduced to almost nothing.

i would STRONGLY suggest just taking one bunny as we are not sure of the sexes of the babies and you don't want to end up with a litter of them.

we will have another 5 bunnies ready to go in just over a month (born today...even though we separated the male as soon as we found out he was a he and have since had him desexed... he got up to no good just before we were able to separate them!)

if you might be interested, please send me a PM. they are free to good homes! (there are two that are identical to the first picture, one whitish and one full black~ looks like an angora like the daddy)

the white-ish one has now been spoken for as well! thank you!

if you look at the photos, we have two identical rabbits (the ones in the first photo)

ok, we now have one slightly larger baby and four smaller babies ready to find good homes!

thank you to the people who took from our first litter. this is our last litter as all big bunnies are all desexed.

remember, do NOT buy from a pet shop! they will charge you $480 for a bunny, and they are not good businesses to support!

grey-ish was born on Feb 22
3 black & 1 white were born on March 21

hi carang

i really like the grey one, might i know how easy to care for? i have no experience of taking care of any pets.

my daughter is 14 months, is it okay/safe for her to play a rabbit?

sorry for so many silly questions

we find the rabbits very easy to care for. they eat two things: timothy grass hay (found at some pet shops) and vegetables (we feed ours cabbage as it's the cheapest. no carrots or lettuce. carrots are not good for their tummies and lettuce has no nutritional value.)

you can get a large-ish cage for them, with a plastic or wooden floor. line it with newspaper and then lay down some wood chips. the wood chips serve three purposes:
1)soak up the urine
2) minimises smell
3)provides warmth if needed

because the rabbit's poop is hard and round, it is very easy to clean up. just takes a couple of minutes to remove the old newspapers & wood chips and lay down new ones.

rabbits are not very "playful" animals, they like to mind their own business, but if they grow up around kids, they may "come out of their shell" a little.

we have two kids as well. the main thing about rabbits is that they are naturally jittery creatures. they can actually be scared to death. we've not had any problems with any of ours, though, and we have sometimes 20 dogs downstairs.

no question is silly when it comes to deciding whether or not to take on a pet. it's a decision that should not be taken lightly.

thanks carang

let me discuss witth my helper to see if she is willing to take up the additional work...
