Hi,I'm going to be 1st time parents,I was wondering if there is any good classes or lecture for me and my husband,so we could have a basic idea with what to do with babys and to be good parents, thx alot.:lilangel:

what do you want to learn?

many people take ante-natal classes before giving birth. these teach the various stages of child birth, the various forms of birth and pain medication.

many of these classes also include bathing, diaper changes etc.

as for being good parents.... everyone does the best that they can.

Tsan Yuk has some free classes in how to bath, hold and breast feed your baby etc.
Ante-natal are $60 per class 10 classes in total

All you have to do is show them a doctors letter proving that your pregnant. You will automatically be enrolled in QMH to give birth but you can refuse if you want to. They will do all your check ups and blood test for free.

but of course, you can only enroll there IF you live in their catchment area or are specially referred to their high risk team. (i have a letter from the HR dept that states as soon as pregnancy is confirmed i should report to their high risk dept. even though i live in sai kung)

I didn't find the Tsan Yuk classes very good. It seems that they have been running the same content for over the last 20 years without any updates. The instructor was very inept at answering the very basic questions that parents had.

i took one class there then decided to enroll in different ante-natal classes.

i found that there were so many people in the tsan yuk classes and they were doing "exercises" that it took almost 30 minutes to come around to me. it was a complete waste of time.

i decided to pay for classes instead.
