My 11 month old will soon be due for her 12 month health (& development) check and immunisations. As we are new to HK I was wondering if someone can tell me how I go about this. ie what is the standard process, GP, Pediatrician, Health Nurse, Clinic? We do have private health insurance.
Thank you!!

if you have private cover, then it's up to you, but i would assume you'd call a pediatrician that accepts your insurance cover.

I go to the paediatrician for all my daughters check ups. She gets all of her vaccinations there too (I also have medical insurance for the children). There is a search engine on here and has a list of paediatricians within Hong Kong. I used this list and called around to book an appointment (which I got same day). With my insurance I have to pay up front and then claim back so I was not restricted by which doctor I used. The doctor that I found was Dr. Steve Wong, who is based in central.

Yep, we pay upfront then claim. Check with your insurer what they need as it's annoying to have to go back - some need a GP's referral to see a paediatrician which is ridiculous but they're paying....

yes, like AmyH mentioned above, we too did all of our son's vaccinations with his private pediatrician and paid up front. Then we submitted claims to our insurance provider afterwards.
