Hi!
My son Josh (22 mths) and I just moved from UK.
New to HK and the Peak area.

Been struggling on own (awaiting for domestic help's visa approval) and trying to figure out HK. Finding it not v child friendly so far... so been on own pretty much. Surely there must be ways to enjoy time in HK with an active todd?!

Would like to meet other moms with todds for coffee &/or playdates.

Any groups at or near the Peak?

thanks
Becca

If u want something more structured playgroups then u have Highgate, Woodlands, Sunshine at the peak

thanks!
Hv already signed Josh up at Sunshine for a couple of mornings .
Mostly attended by the helpers , so have not met many moms.

Am looking to meet and make friends with expat Moms for mutual support and some adult company!

There are 2 wonderful outdoor playgrounds on Coombe Road (The Peak) and lots of mummies and their babies go there in the afternoon. You will stand a good chance of making new friends there. My own baby goes there everyday with her chinese nanny since I am a full time working mum. Hope that helps.

Me too...

Hello Becca,

We will be moving out to Hong Kong from London in August, and will be living on the Peak (lowish I think). My daughter is 18 months old, so definitely catching up with yours! Would love to get together once we are there. Did a quick few weeks reccie a month ago and after a rather slow and painful start, we met lots of lovely people, with lots of lovely kids, so I am sure it is just a matter of time.

We spent quite a bit of time up at the galleria, as we alternated between coffee and playing outside at the playground on the first floor, and then meals at cafe deco with the kids play area. The botanical gardens was a big hit, as was the playground in the big park across from it. Someone also showed me a big indoor play facility with lots of different areas in cyberport, just above the huge kids toyshop and opposite the international supermarket, selling waitrose organic baked beans (at that moment, I knew it wasn't going to be that bad). Admittedly, I think the weather was more bearable when I was there.

Look forward to meeting you both in August, and a playgroup sounds like a great idea!

and yes...

it was a bit weird just meeting lots of kids with their helpers, and not so many mums. made me feel like the very odd one out.
