Bumbo seat

We only used it for 3-4 months, once our baby got a little bit mobile, she did not like sitting in it cos she cannot get out by herself. But it was quite useful and she seemed to like it when she did not know how to sit up properly.

I think if you can buy a second hand one then yes they're good to have. They only have a short life though as they become a bit redundant after they can sit by themselves.

HTH

i bought my when she was 3 mths, but she was too fat & her thighs didn't fit. so i used it for about 2 weeks. but when she was sitting in there, she really enjoyed it, cos she could hold a book & read, and sat up & play with her rattles.

I used it starting when she was about 3 months and we used it for quite a while. Probably til she was about 9-10 months. I lent it to my friend afterwards and she said her chubby baby's thighs didn't fit in it after he turned 4 months.

i just bought a bumbo seat yesterday at mothercare for 390 hk dollars but scared baby will not be able to fit in it for too long. says it is for babies up to 10kgs and my baby is already 8kg (4 month old). Make sure your baby will fit in it when you get the bumbo seat as the leg part is quite tight.

My baby is 4 months and we're thinking of getting one. He too have chubby thighs, how big are the leg holes?
his thighs are 28cm about 11inc.

I recently borrowed a bumbo for my baby and he could fit into it at 5 months. He`s not chubby, but not thin, a bit textbook. But I found I enjoyed looking at him more than he enjoyed staying in the bumbo. I found 10-15 was max and then he was struggling to get out. It was useful for early feedings when I started solids.
I saw some being sold on asiaxpat(sorry to mention to OTHER site) the other day.

We borrowed one and I am glad. I didn't like it. I didn't like the way baby looked in it and, in the end, decided that I had no rush for baby to sit up unaided. I was happy to wait. We gave it back after about 6 weeks.
