ESF Kindergarten vs. Woodland Preschool

Does anyone have any experience with the two schools above ? We have the choice of sending our little one to one of these schools (ESF Kindergarten in Sheung Wan or Woodland Montessori in Repulse Bay). Besides the fact that the child might get priority for ESF primary school, is there any advantage of sending her to ESF Kindergarten instead of Woodland ?

Court,

D is going to start at ESF Kindergarten next month. Really looking forward to it. The facility is great, the program looks good and they have adopted the Montessori philosophy in their curriculum.

You may try to call Mr. Ralph Yau at INFINITY CHILDREN'S WORLD to ask him. He is a tutor from Chinese Montessori Society. Also, his son have been those two preschool before.

ESF Kindergarten

:thanks :thanks Rani,

What are your views on ESF Kindergarten so far? I would like to learn more about it before enrolling my son in K1.

Sorry, sorry. Yes D is still at ESF Kindy. He's doing really well and has become such a confident and independent little boy. Both the K1 teachers are great and would highly recomend them both. If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me.

Any kids accepted by ESF Sheung Wan kindergarten for 2007? Can you tell me that is there a waiting list? How can I know my application' status?
Please help

A friend has applied for Sept 2007, but they haven't heard back yet either. Best to email them for an update.

One of my friend recieved the acceptance letter before CNY for Sept, 2007 but her elder sister is studying there.

Rani, did your friends hear back from the ESF? We've just had our acceptance through but friends of ours had theirs in January. I'm wondering how they batch them?

Yes, she did hear back. Not sure how they batch them either. Her 2nd one got accepted in the afternoon session, which doesn't suit his schedule and she's decided not to send him there. The older sister is in the morning session, but she's off to P1 in Sept.

Thank you for your reply Rani. I'm just wondering when do you find out which session they've been allocated? Is it at the tour? My son had his through a few weeks ago but I'm also considering rejecting. I think I'm just worried that if I reject the place it'll be a black mark against him for Primary so I'm really confused.

Same here. My son has been accepted for Sept 2007 at ESF Sheung wan but he is quite happy at Woodland School right now. I am confused whether I shd shift him or not. Do they really black mark you for Primary? Also anybody has experience as to whether they really give any priority to the ESF Kindy students for Primary or not...

Also, Rani could you please give me your views regarding the school in terms of student/teacher ratio and environment/teaching etc.

Thanks.

Thanks.
