Cantonese kindergarten in Tseung Kwan O (preferably Tiu Keng Leng)

I have finally decided to try and get my son into a local (Cantonese, govt subsidised) kindergarten. I'm hoping he can get into one near where we live so narrowed down the choices from the EDB website. If anyone knows anything about these or the organisation that runs them, would love to hear your thoughts:

1. Lock Tau Christian Kindergarten (基督教樂道幼稚園)
2. Stewards Pooi Yan Kindergarten (香港神託會培恩幼稚園)
3. TWGHS LIONS CLUB OF METROPOLITAN HK KG (東華三院香港華都獅子會幼稚園
4. YAN OI TONG DAN **** WING MAN KG (仁愛堂鄧楊詠曼幼稚園)
5. KWUN TONG BAPTIST CHURCH CHOI MING KG (觀塘浸信會彩明幼稚園)

I also spoke (v.briefly) to the teachers from three other kindergartens which are a little further away in Hang Hau, so thoughts on these are also welcome:

ST ANDREW'S CATHOLIC KINDERGARTEN (天主教聖安德肋幼稚園)
HO CHING KG (SPONSORED BY SIK SIK YUEN) (嗇色園主辦可正幼稚園)
TSING YI TRADE ASSN TSEUNG KWAN O KG (青衣商會將軍澳幼稚園)

唔好讀仁愛堂,好差,老師不負責任,行政混亂,起差,d老師互抄小朋友d報告,老師成日係課室做自己野,唔睇小朋友,校長包庇老師,好差,都唔係教書,老師流失率好大,對小朋友學習唔穩定,老師有人工就逗,有工就返,得過且過,背後唱d家長唔教仔兼無家教,教仔都係靠自己,費時俾人話無家教,好多入面讀的家長都知道仁愛堂好差,我朋友個仔係仁愛堂讀過,我個女又讀過,我朋友同d家長係街坊,好熟絡,仁愛堂好差已經係好多人知,有d唔知的家長通常是新讀的小朋友,報名時唔知入面咁差,但讀了一段時間之後就知道入面問題多多,有d搵到學校就轉校,有d家長其實同學校反映過,不過次次都係意見照聽,但態度照舊,所以仁愛堂做咁耐都好差好差
 
仁愛堂鄧楊詠曼幼稚園書記李少瑩(坐校務處個肥女人)超惡毒,拿住雞毛當令箭,誣衊家長,講家長是非,家長交費要小心,同佢講野要小心,佢最鍾意對家長笑笑口,背後勁講家長是八婆,佢係笑面虎
 
李少瑩書記又一惡行,住我樓上的細路以前讀仁愛堂,佢媽媽話我知個肥婆李少瑩真係好惡毒,原來早幾年佢誣衊佢個仔個班主任,夾埋成班老師玩佢,個班主任係學校無好日子過,連累埋佢個班d細路都無好日子過,後來過老師被肥婆李少瑩迫走咗,佢地成班家長都替呢個老師唔抵
 
Basically she is just saying that Yan Oi Tong Kindergarten is very bad. Teachers are not responsibles, administration is very messy. Teachers do not have passion about their job, and would just do their own stuff instead of teaching/taking care of the kids, and then would blame the parents for not educating their child.

Poster said that her daughter, and many of her friends' kids went there. According to her, everybody know that Yan Oi Tong is bad.
 
Dear all, thanks for the feedback. I took the lazy route and applied for English-medium kindergarten in the end. Although giving up on the idea of my kid babbling away in Cantonese killed me a little, I figured I don't really cherish hiring someone to help me translate school notices/ help him with his homework at 3 years old.
 
Some international schools have local stream as well... My boy is attending Greenville. He is taking the international stream, but if you would like you kid to learn some Cantonese, you could choose the local stream that would teach in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.
 
Yeah, I applied to one bilingual, Learning Habitat, also considered Greenfield. Not sure how effective bilingual is, though. I've heard mixed things. In the end, we went with an English-kindy that's relatively near to our apartment. He happened to get into the first one he interviewed at so we just took the place. Our decision is complicated by the fact that my husband is proposing moving out of HK once the kids finish kindy... which would make all the effort wasted. I could envisage myself forcing my kids into Chinese lessons in India Tiger-mom style just so that their kindy education was not wasted.

We chose Deborah as some mums in the playground said they were happy with it. Box hill was our second choice as its conveniently located for us. Would love to hear feedback anyway if you don't mind pming me.
