Anyone tried ACUPUNCTURE to treat RECURRENT MISCARRIAGES?

Trying to stay proactive to prevent future miscarriages, I've come across acupuncture on the forums which sounds like may be worth trying.

Anyone tried and successfully had acupuncture treatment in Hong Kong after repeat miscarriages and had a healthy baby?

If so, would appreciate advice on which acupuncturist (not sure if this is right name) to see and where to go and the approximate costs.

Since acupuncture treatment is I guess a course of several sessions, I need to see if it's affordable too.

I've read about DR TROY SING and DR SHUM (his former assistant) on the forums. Can anyone tell me the individual consultation and treatment costs for these two doctors?

Thanks

Hi,
I think it is important first to get a diagnosis to establish the cause of the repeated miscarriages. In some cases this requires a specialised recurrent miscarriage unit and repeating tests a few times. Acupuncture might help (as an adjunct treatment not the main treatment) by increasing blood flow/relaxation but if the problem lies elsewhere in the pathway to having a baby, then it will not be a magic answer and just delay you getting help.
Very best of luck

Hi there,

Thanks for advice.
I've already had tests and no cause found.

I've been reading interesting stuff about having a weak spleen and pancreas (= poor qi/blood circulation) and how important a strong spleen/good qi must be to support a healthy growing baby and how acupuncture (and possibly some herbal meds) can help to strengthen these.

I felt really tired throughout all pregnancies so far and baby stopped growing in MC during 2nd trimester.

I've always suffered from frequent "dampness" (tcm terms) which I understand can also be caused from weak spleen/qi.

So willing to consider TCM or acupuncture rather than just extra bed rest and more regular scanning as advised by western doc for next pregnancy.

Hi!

I haven't tried yet...homeopathy seems to be working for me but have read a lot about it and had a couple of clients who had great outcomes with acupuncture...I think it is definitely worth trying!
Wishing you all the best!

Hi planning a baby,

I saw Helen He from Holistic Central a few times in the context of IVF treatment. I thought she was good, friendly and knew what she was talking about. I felt relaxed afterwards, though sometimes it was a little painful when she put the needles in. She charges 950 HKD/session.

Good luck, I hope that it all works out soon!
