French Playgroup

HI

I would love to join - I am half French and have tried to speak French to my daughter (16 months) but she just looks at me and says no when I talk that funny language. My spoken French is rusty but I understand a lot. I also have some French books and tapes to share.

I live in Sa Kung and work but am flexible. Island side is OK as long as its close to an MTR.

I am craving for french playgroup. I tried Le Beaumont earlier. But I personally don't like it. I really wish to join a french playgroup. I don't speak french but I really wish my son to learn French.

My daughter is half-french and is one-year-old. We lived in Paris until the end of October. I just returned to HK to resume work. My husband is still working in Paris. I cannot speak much French and for the bilingual education between me and my husband, I am speaking to her in Cantonese. I am eager to put her in a french-speaking environment before she goes to kindergarten at 3. French playgroup would be good for me. Glad to get any information. I have looked at information about some of the language schools, but since I am working full time, I cannot bring my daughter to those parents-children playgroups held on weekdays. It would be good if there is anything for weekends, or playgroups for babies alone.

French Playgroup

Hi Elizabeth,

Have you tried the Amazing Language at Hung Hom? I tried once and not really good. You mentioned in your message that you know some parent-child playgroup on weekdays? I also would like my 9 mons old son expose to French language. You know any good ones? I am free on weekdays.

Is this playgroup still on? I am chinese but i've learnt French for 10 years when i was at school, and lived in Switzerland for a year. My french is rusty but my daughter seemed to like it. I read some french books to her and she seemed interested. we were in france this summer & she doesn't give that weird stare when she hears french. so i want her to be exposed to it more.

You can also check out the Wise Creative Centre inCauseway Bay. I believe they have some programs in French. The director of the centre is French. Good luck.

So far what I've got is just one Brainy Child DVD. I also found HK is so short of French learning materials for kids. I saw PageOne has some packages by Blitz. By the way, have you find any French playgroup anywhere in HK?

Are there any french mums with children who live Southside and want to start a gathering? My son is 14 months old and I lived in France for a few years so I am keen for him to speak French (one day we hope to live there!).

I am looking to introduce my 17 month old to French. I and my husband are English but may be moving to France in a few years and she is down for the Lycee, I am very rusty and need to improve too. We are on the Southside. (Aussiegal have you had any responses?)

I've only had one so far! PM if you would like to catch up. My son is 17months too. Maybe if we started one off more would join.

Hi everyone, we're new in Hk, have been here only a week. My 14.5 month old daughter is half french and I think she understands the language as my husband speaks to her only in french and me in english to her. Well, she has managed to respond in her own way and do what we ask her to. I'm Malaysian chinese but I speak french too (I've no choice as my in-laws do not speak a single word of english and we've lived in Switzerland).
Pls send me a PM if any of u are interested in getting together or pls keep me updated if u form a french speaking playgroup. I would love to join u. Wer'e currently staying in Central and still looking for our home.
merci et a bientot, Grace :thanks

French playgroup/baby phonics

My daughter is 2/06 months and I would like her to expose to different languages. My first choice is French but multi-lingual is my ultimate goal. I have a friend who brings her 5 month old baby to Le Beaumont language Center to attend French, Spanish and Putonghua every week. She think it's quite nice and interesting.

I visited the website www.beaumont.edu.hk and I am not sure if it is good for my girl. Anyone has try classes there?

my son is attending french playgroup in Wise Creative in Causeway Bay.

Hi L'est Rose, is it good? I'm Chinese but I've studied French for a no. of years back in high school. I've been playing French songs for my baby since birth and I'd love for her to learn the language as well.
